NewBee color question

I hope you guys don't get tired of all my questions....

My 53 rating plate indicates a color code of "R" which translates to "Meadow Green". Does anyone have a link to a picture that would show the original color scheme? Was the truck ALL meadow green, I have a two tone picture in my head for some reason.. white and green? How can I tell what it looked like when it came off Mr. Ford's Detroit assembly line?

As always,
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I doubt that it was origanally tu-tone.
You'll find some color chips and codes on this site;
http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Re..._Material.html
Find a line drawing and get someone to photoshop the color or get out the crayons and play.

Ford did not offer two-tone until 1955. The cab roof and back were snowshoe white, same color of the rims in '55 and '56. The running boards were black in '53-'55 if you want to call that two-tone!

My '54 F-100 is Meadow Green. Take a look in my gallery.

My 1950 F-1 was repainted in the original Meadow Green color. Check out my pics but be prepared to be confused. Meadow Green has a really nifty ability to change colors when the sun is on it, from Green to blue. I personally think it is the most awesome color Ford ever used and I get comments on it all of the time.

Wow, your truck is beautiful. Did you do the work yourself? You're right the paint is fantastic.
I hope mine looks 1/2 as good when (if) I ever get it done.
Thanks for the pix.
