Odometer/trip mil display not working

Hello to all. I am usually over at the 48 to 60 forum, but i have a queation about my 99 F-150. It has a digital display of mileage and trip . The display is intermittent. Sometimes it is blank. Has anyone ever experienced this? What was the cause.

I would appreciate any help

Common issue. It boils down to nothing more than a poor electrical connection. My '99 does it too. Ive never fixed it because to me its nothing more than an annoyance.

Just a note about the repair of the mileage display, I just did the repair myself, and have not had a problem with it again. It is a little time consuming pulling the dash apart but goes back together real easy. just be careful with the light switch assy. it was the toughest piece for me to get out, it will break if you are not careful.

Not to mention the little plastic clips, they are easy to break. Thats why Ive never taken mine apart to fix it. Its only an intermittent problem and was never anything more than an annoyance.
