ZF 6 Speed ATF Change

ZF 6 Speed ATF Change
Well I just changed the ATF in ZF 6 Speed (2007 F350). What a mess. I must of lost over 1 qt on the floor trying to get it into the fill hole. 2 funnels later I used a plunger type pump to suck it out of the bottle and push it into the hole.

There has to be a better way! What are others doing? I do realize having the truck raised would have helped (I have a 2WD).<O</O
Also since I lost so much on the floor I know I didn’t put 5.8 qts back. It ran out of the hole but when I put my finger in to check the level it seemed about 1 cm down from the plug. For others that have done this more successfully, where should it sit after adding the correct amount?
