I know this is a SCT site and all other tuners are no good...anyway I have had two of them and had pretty good luck all I use it for is mileage...Im not a hot rodder other than getting on it once in a while....I alaways keep the mid hp tune in and never run the top end one.....what is the big diff between these and the mighty SCT...someone told me timing issues...cant the predator be updated or customized? let the opinions fly!

There is more to tuning than just injection timing. And no the Predator cannot be "Custom Tuned" for your truck, load and driving style.
And no this is not an SCT site, this is a forum with members that since the introduction of the 6.0 & Torqueshift has tested all the performance products available and through testing and racing found out what works and what does not.
Please do a search and read, read, read as this has been posted numerous times in hundreds of posts and ALL of your questions have already been answered. Search and you will find the answers.
I have one. I like the power it gave me. But not coolant smell I get when using it. So I'm back to stock, I get 15.5 mpg. The tuner was about the same. just more power.
May think about the SCT.

Give LIPD or Innovative a call and ask them about the difference in the tuners. The SCT allows them to control/tune so many parameters its incredible. Watching Matt from LIPD work between my X, his laptop and the SCT was pretty cool. We'd load a tune and take a test drive and then he'd go back to the laptop and tweak the tune a little more.
I realize this option isn't available to everyone due to location but its available none the less. This can be done by email but you have to load the tune, test drive it and then report back to your vendor/tuner and he/she can tweak the tune and re-email it. None of this can be done w/ the Predator SuperChips or in-line fuel boxes. Not that the SCT is the only option but its proven to be a great one.

Well several people have had good luck with them on this site, many more have not.

The SCT is just simply the best bang for the buck. It has limitless configurations in the hands of a capable tuner, reguradless to the degree of mods, or lack of mods, or mods not done today, but maybe next month. None of the other tuners or fuel boxes currently have this option. This is what makes it the best.

I can't specifically say cuz im sure blackhat will come over this top with more pristine info. but, i've read on tds.com a post from innovative that mentioned they can get a lot out of the torqshift with their custom tuning and my transmission shifts a lot smoother and faster.
This subject HAS been beaten to death.
BUT it does need to be revisited ever once in a while.
This is my 3rd turbo charged ride and was going to be my second one with a tuner.
After reading several magazine articles I did stage 1 a 4" turbo back exhaust and was ready to go to stage 2 (K&N) and 3 (Predator)
Then I found and searched for a couple of days....

Absolutely!!! The stock tranny shifting is very soft and made to satisfy a very large range of customers. A little quicker/firmer shifting is a very good thing for the torqshift. It is a very very stout transmission and can handle a very large load if tuned correctly.
Maybe I'll reorder an SCT I returned my last one even though I really liked it do to being scared about losing my warranty, so Ill have to call matt again with my tail between my legs, lol, and reorder. I also would like the big line kit but it hasn't been on their web site yet.
please keep in mind that all "canned" tunes including stock are designed to work with my driving style your driving style Bob down the streets driving style the retired electricians driving style ect...ect... & all of them have to be accomidated. where Matt's sct tuning comes in is for your driving style only, have you ever wished you had a little more punch in the low or high or mid range? maybe a little longer holdm in 2nd gear when towing? or perhapse a better passing ability on a grade, or less overdrive shifting in & out? a custom tune can do any of these to match your exact wants & produce the power where you want it when you want it chances are your driving habits are different then mine so why should you settle for a tune that matches every ones habits when you can get it exactly as you want it? its a no brainer youre truck should satisfy you and you alone, no one else can do that except SCT & a custom tuner I use Matt @ LIPD & am very satisfied but there are others asa well suited to do the job just call & talk to them choose the one you think is best suited to you & then hold on beacause you will not belive what these engines are capable of untill you have it set up exactly as you want it I hope this makes your descision easier as it is well worth it & if you dont like it you can get your monry back!
