Well after doing what I thought was enough research on here, I set about replacing the shifter bushings on my M5od. I was having trouble getting at the drivers side pin, so i figured what the heck, I will take the top cover off of the transmission. Well, I removed the 10 bolts, and quickly realized that the top cover was not just a cover, but had all sorts of linkage type stuff attached to it. I quickly replaced the cover, after pulling it up a few inches, not wanting to open a whole can of worms.
Well i put it all back together, and now the shift lever won't move at all. I left it in 3rd gear before dissassembly, and still seems to be in third when I try to drive it.
What gives here? Any suggestions? What are the odds that I screwed something up when I lifted that top cover?
