f250 stalling
has anyone been having problem with 5.4 stalling while on idle.I've taken my ,'99 f250 to my mechanic but he can't seem to find the problem,I don't trust the Ford dealers down here in Miami

Change the IAC. (Idle air control valve)
The #1 cause of idle problems on our trucks.
If you goto the top of this forum (tech folder )there is a picture and procedure .
Its the silver canister thing on the back of the throttle body.2 screws to change.

A quick test for the IAC is just to unplug it. If the truck dies, or almost dies, it's working. So said my Haynes manual anywho... having a similiar problem with my Ford Ranger. Heard that a TPS can cause similiar problems with idle when it starts to go bad. I'll test mine and if that ends up being the problem, I'll let you know.
