I own a 2000 F-150 regular cab. It has the captian's chairs in it right now. I am wanting to replace those with a full bench seat. I need to know how difficult changing them out will be, if I use a bench seat from a truck of the same model and year. Also need to sell off the captain's chairs if I end up getting to do this. Any help would be great. Thanks alot!
Welcome to FTE Mike . As long as you use a bench from the same year truck, it should bolt right in. The concern is with the shoulder harness and seat belts. Either find a bench that uses the same configuration or be sure to get new belts for the application of your chosen seat. As for selling the Captains chairs that you have, there is a Classified section for that purpose. You will find it at the top of the page, on the right. Good luck!
If your seats would bolt in my '97, I would also consider a trade. I have the 60/40 bench seat with the fold-down cup holder/storage console/arm rest. Do you have any pictures of your seats/interior?
Would the 97 fit into the 2000 no problems? I can get pictures for you. The leather on the drivers side is a little worn and 2 small cracks on the side but the passenger side is pretty good. The seats need to be tan though. I'll put a few pics up tomorrow

Oh...I have the Grey cloth seats. I was looking for some Grey cloth captian's chairs or bucket seats that would match the interior (like you are). My seats have been covered with a seat cover since the day it rolled off the lot. They are in immaculate condition.
I am looking for tan seats. I might have found a set from a local salvager. How skilled would I need to be to change out the seats myself? Is there a lot of taking apart and rebuilding involved or can they just be unbolted and replaced?
