OD light blinking
ARG! I have a 1992 e350 with a 7.3l diesel with a transmission with about 40,000 miles on a rebuild. Last summer the OD light started blinking once in a while. I pulled the codes and it lead me to replace the FIPL sensor (sp?). I adjusted with a multimeter. Just before I left for my holidays with the van last summer it started blinking again. I took the van to a local trans shop who again replaced the sensor. It continued to do so several times last summer. When the light blinks, the trans shifts erratically and twice I have lost the speedometer. I haven't had a problem all winter, but now I am ready to leave on holidays with the van and on the way home today same story. When leaving from a stop light, it didn't even want to engage into first gear. Often if I shut the van off for a couple seconds and restart, the blinking stops and it shifts normally again. The trans shop says they don't know what the deal is and that it is likely an electrical problem and I should take it to an auto electric shop. Any suggestions?
