I just purchased a 99 F-450 and noticed a pair of wires with a rehistat(spelling?) or adjusting **** hanging from under the dash board. Those two wire go into a rectangular box and then come out the other side. One wire goes to ground and the other through the firewall. It seems aftermarket. I turned the **** and nothing seemed to happen. Then the ajusting *** broke of the wire harness. Any ideas?
Seem like I remember seeing a peformance adding thing on Ebay that kind of matches the description that you give. It was a black box with a **** that could supposedly give you better performance. Maybe like a 10k mod in a box?
I dunno. Just taking stabs at it.
I found a few weird things in my truck when I first bought it. Still don't know what a couple of them are or were for.
I did not have time to trace it behind firwall. I was going to check tomorrow.
did it come from a local dealer, or was it a fema haulers truck? reason I ask is I spent about 6 months in Redstick after the storms haulin, and saw a lot of trucks that were pieced together just so the could be traded in down there.
The wire runs to the IPC and connects to the green wire. Can I just cut out the splice? The truck runs real sluggish and waits to shift between 2500 -3000 RPMs.
I want to remove the mod because if broke and replace it with a DP tuner but do not want to mess up the truck because it is used daily in my business. Any thoughts on cutting out splice and reconecting the green wire?
Did u mean ICP, located on the drivers side head? If so that is the 10K mod( a sort of one), just look up 10K mod and reverse it since i never had it i dont know how to remove it.
Yes ICP sorry, I clipped the one mod wire going to the ICP but noticed some oil in the ICP plug. Is the sensor going bad if there is oil in the plug? And if it is can I just unscrew it and replace it or is it under oil presure?
