Fuel Filter Markings?
hey guys i bought my new fuel filters from my local ih dealer
and when i took the box home and checked them out, i noticed
that the primary and secondary filter elements had a blue ink blotch
on both of them, i called the dealer and he checked the other filters in
their wherehouse said all the new stock fuel filter kits are all the same, they meaning he checked 10 differnent fuel filter boxes of the same type i purchased and they all had the same blue ink blotch on the filter media, he said it would not hurt annything. what gives is this a new form of production, i bought 2 boxes last year and used them on my truck and my uncles and neither had the blue bloches on them. any help would be appriciated.

Just to be sure... you have the 2-filter fuel filter kit?
The large HFCM filter has the white mesh "pre-filter" on it so you can not see the pleated paper (this is what makes this a Racor filter)?
Compare to filters shown in my gallery under "fuel and filters".
I suspect all is well and just some sort of QA stamp or tracking ink???
I think you are good to go and have nothing to worry about.
