Hello All,
This is my first post! I want to first thank everyone on here as I have found some great information and not needed to post before. If this has been answered before, I searched and could not find an answer.
I have a 2001 F250 CC V10 Ford Racing Headers, Stans Y Pipe and Gibson Swept Side exhaust, throttle body spacer, k&n, billet grille and new 1 piece headlights.
My question is I have a bad exhaust leak coming from the driver side header. I have not taken the tire off to get a better look but I do not see how to get to the bottom bolts. The headers have been on the truck for a few years now and I am pretty sure the gasket is long gone. Has anyone installed their own headers or changed the gaskets? How do I take thesethings off? I called the local shops and they want from $300-$400 plus the price of gaskets. I would much ather take a day and do it myself.
To make it way earier, take the tire off and remove the fender liners. There are a few bolts and some push fasteners. The bolts can be a bear to get at. The job itself should not be that bad. Do you know if you have studs or bolts to faten the headers? If you have studs, you might want to inspect them closely to see it they have broken. That alone can cause a exhaust leak. If that is the case. The job just got bigger and more complicated.
You should not have to do that. I have the Banks headers and I had no problems with the motor at all. You have to get creative with universals and extensions to get tot he bottom bolts.
