360 Manifold Question
After repl the carb, I found PO rigged the EGR port on the manifold by plugging it with high temp silicone and a metal gasket plate. Overtime, the gasket blew and leaked causing the manifold surface by the carb to erode. I would like to replace it, but am unsure with what. I am not using the EGR valve and have no plans to. If I use stock, what year would I need to get that does not have the EGR port? What are other options with regard to dual plenum aluminum types? Please note that I want to keep the stock Motorcraft 2100 2bl.

I ran into that same problem when I put a rebuilt 2100 with a manual choke on the 1972 360 in my '65 truck. There was that dog leg in the intake manifold for an egr valve. Either I could locate a 2bbl manifold from before 1972, use a 2150 carb or modify the egr spacer. No to #1, hell no to #2 but yes to #3. Got a clean spacer off ebay and then cut pipe threads into the two ports on the back. Sealed the exhaust hole up with a plug and put a nipple fitting on the intake port. Now I could attach my PVC hose to that fitting. That was a year ago and it works fine.
