Tonight I went and bought myself a 78 F250 with a 460. Ofcourse now I have to register and insure it, I didn't find the VIN on the dash like it is on my Thunderbird, I found the number above on a tag in the door jam. Before I try and feed it to the insurance company I just wanted to run it by you guys.

j = 460 CID 7.5 liter 4BBL Carburetor 1973 - 1979
K = Kansas City, MO
CC2487 = Serial # from AE0,001 to Serial # CK9,999
hope that helps, these trucks dont have one on the dash the doors is the most common

Ford didnt put Vin Plates on the dash of 70's trucks so don't look there for them 
The put Rating Plates on the doors next to the latch.
Your truck was built in May 1978.
