Fatfenders56 and I left before the trophies were announced, so I don't know if B/B trophied or not. But he should have and there were some VERY NICE trucks there. Ed said that a total of 170 trucks were entered. The venue won't support many more, as they were packed in together pretty close and there wasn't much room for Easy-ups and such. But, that was just about the right size show for a one day event. It was possible to see every truck and really look over most of them. As you can see from the pictures, the park is a beautiful place for the show.
I got some really good ideas and some confidence in my bodywork so far, since I saw some awsome finished trucks that weren't as nice for fit and finish as mine. But you just haven't lived until you've toured a show with fatfenders56. Having been a judge for many years, his descriminating eye was quite an education.
We got to spend some time with B/B Ford (Wayne) and ogle over his beautiful truck. Finally ran down imlowr2 (Ed Krebs), who spent the entire day nowhere near his truck (which is looking really nice). Kieth56_cruz_cab showed up late in the day. We also met Scrape, (from Australia) quite by accident. Fatfenders had a nametag on all day and was bummed that nobody noticed it, until Scrape, who was talking to a couple next to us, asked if he was the fatfender56 on FTE. Made his day!
The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Low 80's with a light breeze.
The Western Nats is still my all-time favorite show. Nice job, Ed.
Glad you enjoyed it Randolph. I saw some fotos posted by Ed, I think, under the Western nats thread at the top. That deep purple?, I think it was, with the white interior looked phenomenal in the foto. Perhaps we'll be raving about yours at next years show.
Bobby...
I had one of your locals with me at the show. My buddy Mike Rasmussen and his wife were down here visiting from Rio Rancho so I drug 'em along with me to the show. They're not really "car people" but enjoyed seeing all the shiny trucks anyway.
