For those who have opted to put a non Ford-stock radiator in front of your y-blocks...
What type have you installed and how have they fit.
I think the stock mounting width is 26", the overall hieght is also 26" but I dont think that is as important as the mounting size...I can fill in any gap so that air flow is o.k. I am just looking into an easy option (if one exists).
thanks for any input, Ed
Ford updated the original 1954/56 radiator part number to B9TT-8005-H. This radiator was also used 1957/60. The core size is: 22 1/4"-width; 20 3/8"-high; core thickness: 2 1/4"
Joe and Bobby, Thanks for the info.
Joe thats a good looking truck! Who did the ceramic coating on the headers?
I have Sanderson's but they havnt been coated.
Bobby your shop looks as full as mine...I just seem to trip over stuff all the time!
Good luck with it. Yea, my garage is kind of cramped, its not so bad now that the ruck runs and I can move it around. Back when it was immobile it seems like all my time was consumed doing the "crap shuffle" everytime I wanted to work on it

Bill,
Do you know the part number for the 56 COE radiator? It has the "tub head' and it is approximately 23 1/2" x 27" tall.
I need a replacement and can't find one locally.
Is there a comparable Ford radiator that would work size wise perhaps using different hoses? I'm stuck. (Radiator shop here wants $600 for a recore.)

See post #2. The same radiator (B9TT-8005-H) was the only one offered for a 1956 F600 COE with a 272 Y Block.
But your measurements are much larger than what the parts book calls for....Is this the engine you have???
I Need your VIN number...you may have a C Series NOT an F Series. The C Series = Cab Forward offered in 1956 is not the same as the 1957 and later C series which is a tilt cab.
Edit: I'll use YOUR measurements...and look thru 1961/89.
