Hey guys, I just stopped in to say hey. I'm near the completion of my project, and can't wait to give her a spin. I bought a 1979 Ford f-250 with a "blown engine". Turns out the guy rebuilt it. He bored it .030 over (still used standard pistons) His ring gaps were over .150 (this explains the major smoking issue). He also replaced the rod bearings, but never tightened the keeper bolts. I did a full once over and corrected these problems. I am hoping that it runs a little better. I am hoping to have her running before the July 4th weekend.

Welcome to FTE, congrats on fixing your new project. It sounds like a neat ride. Being a CNC machinist is a real bonus when working on old vehicles.
