Arrow tank swap

Just wanted to know if the fuel tank from an 84 150 would work on an 87 250
as the mid ship tank on the 250 leaks when 1/2 full, I know the one on the 150 is in good shape and pump and sending unit works (my former rig)
the 150 was single tank, will this be a problem? or can i just swap and connect hoses and wiring?

tnx

84 f-150 4x4 5.8 2bbl
87 f-250 4x4 5.8 4bbl

I think thats a no go. The fuel injected f150s have the fuel pumps in the tank and I believe the non fuellies have an external fuel pump. Id take a guess that the tanks are different then. Someone correct me if Im wrong please. That helps both of us out.

Nope different tank opening sizes .And 87 up had elec fuel pump. According to parts book bascally you need one from 87-89 . Good luck

Question re: tank swap

if both rigs are carbed w/mech. fuel pumps, aren't the pickup pumps in the tank with the sending units?
the only difference that i can physicly see is that the 250 is dual tank and the 150 is single tank.both tanks are either 19 or 20 gal,i think 19.
the 250 had box replaced and looks like diesel filler tubes(large filler hole)and front tank only takes gas VERY slow, cannot fast fill as normal, another reason to replace tank and filler tube.
