I have a 79 bronco, 400 for a motor, bone stock...i noticed the fuel dumping out of the fuel pump itself. So changed the fuel pump gasket thinking that, that was the issue...fired her up and she leaks just as bad...does anyone have any ideas...maybe a clogged filter, bad lines, any help would be appreciated.
Weird thing about it is, it will still fire and idle like normal but it leaks like a siv, is that normal for a bad fuel pump?
Yes and no...but the fact that it's leaking tells me it's time for a new one.
That pump is inches from the left exhaust manifold, and just below the dizzy. You don't want an engine fire from spurting fuel blown all over the engine by the fan.
