I've been fighting a fuel issue on my son's 82 F100. I have cleaned out the tank, replaced all the rubber lines, new inline fuel filter, new fuel pump, carb has a rebuilt sicker on it and is fairly new. I also cleaned out the hard line and the Dura-Spark box is new.
If i rev the engine for a short while it cuts out like fuel starvation. I think I need to see if there is any thing obstructing the needle or float. When I drive on the road it runs great if the revs are low. Get on the highway and you are lucky to see 50 mph.
Thoughts?

Reason: clarity
Don`t trust that the carb was rebuilt PROPERLY.Pull the carb, get a kit for it.
Check to make sure that the FLOAT LEVEL is correct.Too many times I have seen so called rebuilt carbs have wrong jets.floats too low or high, wrong power valves. You name it,its` been wrong.

I feel like a goof. I pulled the air cleaner in preparation for rebuilding the carb. There's an inline filter that I overlooked. It was plugged. I guess I didn't need that fuel pump after all. DOH!!
