This bike was a POS when I found it, had been sitting outside for 10 years but the motor turned over and had good compression. The GT was stripped down to just the engine and frame, all rubber parts were replaced, calipers & master cylinder rebuilt, new tires/tubes, carbs rebuilt, had to find: gas tank, seat cover, exhaust cones, side covers, fork ears and the list goes on. Its no perfect but I only have $1000 in it and it rides great and turns heads wherever I go. The before pics are forever lost on the hard drive so I can't show what I started with.
Since April '06 I have not even put 2,000 miles on my F150, been riding a '05 Suzuki GZ250 to work that gets 65mpg!!! In 20mos I have put 17,000 miles on this little bike, and about 600 on the GT750. The GT runs great with 21,400 miles on it but the best mpg so far has been 36mpg.
I have a friend who is currently fixing up a couple of '67 Honda 305 Superhawks,
a '66 or '67 Suzuki 250 X-6 Hustler, two Bultaco Metrallas, and a mid 70's Yamaha RD350.
I guess you can say he likes motorcycles.
Again, that's a very nice bike.
