Aftermarket alt.??
I was reading threads here about a month ago and heard about a high output alt for a reasonable price . Now I can't seem to find it anywhere even with search.Does anyone know about it?? Thanks

I spent $750 on my alt(230 amp) and I had to do 1/0 wiring for it. HO alternator made the highest output I could find, I bought it through Metra under the tsunami label. PowerMaster should get you under $400, and I found components to rebuild your own alt with high amp parts.

ReAX, could you tell me where you found the parts? All of the suppliers up here tell me they can't be bought. I'll be down there shortly so I could pick them up at the same time.

Thanks for the info,Ive e-mailed them and am waiting to hear back on what they have available. I've installed new brushes but it made no difference. I'm going to test the regulator tomorrow and replace it if it is shot.( I'll have to go back to my high school shop manual to remember how)
