high altitude?
I reported that I developed a stumble on take-off. Found ATF in modulator line, bought 14 dollar modulator at Azone. This cured the stumble. What with a gentle flush, new mod, plus new 02 sensor (after 140,000) my 93 4.0 runs and shifts like new.
When buying the mod, the guy first said I didnt have one.
But he looked some more, mumbled something about high altitude version, and found me one.
So thats my question. I bought my 93 4.0 awd used...is there such a thing as a high altitude version and how would I determine this.
Not so coldgeorge...ah, summertime!
if you are experiencing no shift problems such as slippage or hard shifts I would use the standard...call your local area Ford dealer shop parts counter and see what they put in....Ford M/C vac. mod. prices will shock you....last designed use 12 years ago
E5TZ-7A377C is the stock A4LD vac. mod/w brown stripe...compare p# to your old
only one vac. mod cared by MC now for 4L....single diaphram fixed brown stripe which is the standard
best way to resolve if you are having shift problems caused by your local elevation and not by tranny failure is to install an adjustable vac. mod.

gives you that personalized shift feel.
always go for the oldest guy behind the parts counter for these Aero parts...the geezer setting behind a desk in the back or off to the side drinking coffee or talking engines...probably one of the owners...
