The surface rust on my frame is starting to bug me and I am looking to paint over as much as the frame and underbody as possible. First I'm looking for suggestions. Next, I was thinking of using POR 15 or Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator, not sure which would be the best or if there is something else I should consider doing.
I haven't used either, but have read some good reviews on POR.
I bought a quart of Loctite Rust Extender and am going to try some on my trailer's wheel wells. If it holds up I will use it on my frame and oil pan (as well as any other place that could use it).
i helped a friend do this. we took a wire brush and cleaned off the surface rust and then applied ospho. We let is set over night, and then we painted the next day.
We put on the hi-temp paint they use on BBQ pits. Looked really nice and I figured I would do the same when I get motivated.
