Tranny Temp Gauge

Just random thoughts from me... I have the four gauge pod, and the egt gauge is a thermocouple, so its reading is instant. My tranny temp gauge seems to take forever to get up to temperature, is this normal? Does the tranny run that cold for that long? Just a thought.

My autometer takes awhile to come to operating temps to. A lot faster than the gauge on the truck. Its normal and accurate. My dad has an 06 D/Max and the stock gauge and my autometer are about dead even getting to operating temps.

The factory tranny temp in your cluster is a dummy gauge. You will find that it will read operating temp after only a few minutes (inaccurate). The auto meter tranny gauge is accurate. It takes a little while (depending on how you drive) to actually get to operating temp. You will find that "operating" temp will be about 90-100 degrees above ambient.
