LAST EDITED ON 24-May-01 AT 04:34 PM (EST)[p]How much technical know-how does one need to install a chip, what kind of special tools do you need and approx. how long does it take?
Thanks for all of you guys posts. I've been reading for awhile now.
PS Could anyone recommend to good mechanic in the Atlanta area?
Installation time depends on the vehicle. The hardest is a
pre 99 Powerstroke, about 1 hour. The easiest is the Explorer, about 15 minutes. I have assisted several hundred folks with installation over the phone. I can honestly say that not a single person has failed to get the module installed. I have even assisted several females over the phone in the installation.
Thanks

Thanks D for the info. I am going to do this in the very near future (next 2 weeks or so) and will probably request your assistance. Does Diablo offer the flip chip?
PS...This is on a 97 F-150 4.6L Extended Cab 3.55LS
Thanks!!
Diablo does not have a flip chip. It would really not be required on your truck, unless you were running nitrous maybe????
Thanks

It helps if your in a good mood and have somebody to help you. Otherwise you might get frustated and start hurting yourself. Main thing is make sure your in a good mood and take your time. It also helps to remove some of the things that might be in your way. But you should also label parts so you can get it back together again. Otherwise you might end up in a bad mood.
It took me about 40 minutes (in a bad mood)
