A little help
Tell me if i'm right on this please. Comparing a 235/70/17 tire to a 255/65/17 tire. The 235/70/17 tire will be narrower and taller than the 255/65/17, right? I currently drive a STX with the 255 and I'm looking at an XLT with the 235. Any difference to be expected in handling or performance? Thanks for the help.

Anytime you put less rubber to the ground you sacrifice traction, and when go taller you change the center of gravity of the vehicle so it doesn't handle as well in the curves. Best bet is to get the exact dimensions of the brands of tires on these trucks and compare. Not all brands rate their tires the same. You need to ck the speed ratings also and what ply the tires are also, 4-6-8ply
