Just installed my new PUTCO chrome covers tonight. Definantley looks better that the stock mirrors. A simple install, I will soon find out if they will hold up. They were just simple slip covers for the existing Tow Mirrors, and were easy to install. I have more pics in my gallery.
i have them on my old tt mirrors. had them for about 1 year. then i took them off and bought the signal mirrors with factory chrome signal backs. my tt mirrors without signals are for sale. pm me if interested. pics of both are in my gallery.
To be honsest, they seemed like a metal shell with the ABS chrome plastic cover on the ones side(what you see). But when you read the ad, it just says ABS Chrome. They are pretty durable, and had a nice tight fit. It almost snapped into place.
mine held up perfect. except for when a rock came up and put a dime sized chip in the chrome. it didn't break the plastic but, its white under the chrome. STILL HAVE THE MIRRORS FOR SALE AS COMPLETE PAIR...
So far, so good! Been through the car wash, and it's holding up strong. Obviously, they are still new, if I have any probs, I'll let yall know. Racerx7775, I'd have bought your mirrors, but you never got back to me on the pics.I'll keep you in mind if my buds need'em. I have no idea what the dime size damage you speak of. $250 seems reasonable, but like I said, no pics.
i'll try and get the pics in a couple minutes. i'm not sure how to post the pic from my camera to here.... i can put it in my gallery.. sorry for not getting them for you..
I've got a set on my non-tt mirrors, they hold up great. From experience make sure to rinse them well before scrubbing the bugs off as the tires tend to kick sand and grit at the mirrors and it need to be rinsed off. Also, look out for dirty squeege sponges that have sand in them. Basically the chromed plastic can scratch easily.
