DVD Install

Have any of you pulled your stock double din stereo ? I'm planning to put my DVD screen in tonight and would love any tricks, tips or tough points ?

Do you need a special tool to get the stock deck out ?

Any help would be great, thanks ...

nope. the radio bezel pops out. (4) 7mm screws hold it in. easy to do. my gallery has a pic of what it will look like to give you an idea

I pulled my deck out to install the brandmotion integrated nav system. very easy and no special tools. the hardest part is getting the main cover off. Start at the bottom, left or right and start prying. It almost feels as if you are going to break it, but once you get 1 or 2 of the clips free, it is all down hill from there. Good luck.

Are you guys talking about prying off the "wood" pannel on the whole dash area or just the deck itself ?

i am assuiming you have the flow thru console (no shifter on the column). you need to pry just the wood grain off. it is one piece. the a/c controls will come off with it as well as the airbag plug to. unplug the connectors and set the trim aside then remove the 4 screws for the radio and unplug the plugs
