Please do NOT go to a quick lube place. There are Ford dealerships that offer oil change specials regularly. At least most of them can get it right. No one can tell you where or where not to get your oil changed for warranty reasons if that's what you're worried about. A 6.0L is very easy to do an oil change on--easier than most cars for that matter. Invest in a Fumotovalve ---www.fumotovalve.com-- and learn to do it yourself. Takes about 30-45 minutes and you can do it for about 45 bucks if you shop a little for oil and filters.
As npccpartsman said, many if not most of us do the regular maintanance ourselves. I do oil, filter and lube zerks at 5000 miles, drain the fuel seperator monthly, fuel filters every 10,000miles and trans fluid flush at 50,000. The oil change is very easy with the Fumoto valve and I can inspect everything while I have the hood up. Also, I use Power Service diesel fuel supplement in every fillup and haven't had any problems.
First off, welcome to the site! You'll find lots of good info here.
If you are able, I too suggest you change the oil yourself. It's pretty easy. Go up to the 6.0 tech folder...you'll find step by step instructions on this and many other maintenance procedures.
dont use quick lubes...they dont use OEM racor filters...if u wait for the special you can get them for 3.50 a piece Plus motorcraft oil in 5qt jugs for 9.88.
I wouldn't necessarily jump to saying no quick lubes. Just like dealer service departments, and shadetree mechanic places there are good and bad ones.
I worked at my dad's buddies bait shop/gas station/quick lube for 6 years. Started when I was 13 in the bait shop, started working in the gas station when I was 16, and then started changing oil when I was 18. This was a privately owned Mobil gas station with a food mart on one side and a bait shop on the other. Then on the other side of the lot he put up a quaker state quick lube. I don't ever remember anything bad happening while I worked there other than maybe a stripped oil plug or two (and who knows if we did it or they did). And when that happened we would either replace the plug or drill tap it the next size up, or whatever we had to do to fix it. And we would let the customer know it happened. My parents still take thier car there when they are in a hurry and have never had a problem. I am sure there are many other places around that are just like it, you just have to find them.
Ask around your town and see if anyone can reccommend a place that they have had good luck. And before you let them start ask them what kind of oil and filters they are going to use. If they don't seem trustworthy then leave. Overall doing it yourself is best, and lets you keep an eye on your vehicle, but I understand sometimes life gets to busy and you don't have the time. Or you're living in an apartment and don't have a place to do it.
Do it yourself with fumoto valve or go to dealer if you have deep pockets. I wouldn't bring my lawnmower to a quick lube place. Not all quick lubes are bad but why take the chance?

Who runs the specials on the Motorcraft oil and filters?
Schucks and Pep Boys both run 2 for $7 fram filter coupons in there ads about once a month. Some counter people try to say the Powerstroke filter is not included, but there is no exclusion on the coupon so ask to see a manager, they will usually give it to you. If not try a different store.
