Has anyone had any luck having a good sounding stereo in their trucks? I have the feeling my problem is my factory Am/Fm Cassette receiver. My truck is a 1995 f-150 extended cab with cloth bucket seats and original carpeted floors. I have replaced the fronts speakers with Infinity 6 ¾ speakers (had to do some cutting to get them installed) and replaced the rears with some Pioneer 5x7’s 3 ways. The fronts don’t sound too bad but the rears sound like a tin can. I stuffed some insulation in the side walls were the rear speakers are at and it still sounds the same (maybe a little better). I then took some really nice JBL 6x9’s (in there own box, placed on the floor) to replace the 5x7’s and I’m still having an overall hollow sound like I’m in a tin can. Is this just the acoustics of the cab or is it the factory stereo?
I would definitey get a new stereo , and while your at it get a subwoofer ,that changes the way everything sounds, I have all new system in my crew cab and it sounds great , with the extended cab you can get a much better sub box than the slim one I had to get , in order to fit behind the seat.

I like the way your subs fit under the seat. I do have a singe 8’ kicker (sub) but the current cab does not fit under the seat. I see yours is custom fit, did you make it yourself or buy it from somewhere like Crutchfield. Also you mentioned that the seat is lifted. How did you pull that one off?
