Question OIL Temperature Probe??

I’m installing an oil temperature gage on my 06 PSD.
Where is the best place to put the probe?
I was thinking the line going to the oil cooler, but I also heard the oil filter cap.
What do you all think?

The ECM already monitors oil temp. You dont need to add anymore sensors if you used a Quadzilla Commander which monitors a bunch of features as well.

i put my oil psi sensor unit on top of my aluminum oil cap which was tapped for this purpose, if i put in an oil temp gauge i will put a tee fitting on top of my oil cap and get temp from one side and psi from the other side......check my gallery for pics of this...

Is there a plug on the side of the block where I can put the Oil Temp Probe?

Thanks Lone Wolf.
I'm looking at the 6.o Bible and I see there is an Oil temp probe already installed.
I'm going to look at the oil assembly at lunch and see what I can do there.
I also noticed that there is an Oil pressure test port I may remove the test port and put the probe there, what do you all think?

I looked at it and unless I want to drill and tap the oil filter housing the best way I think is to buy a billet oil filter cap drill and tap that.
