2.8 700r4 4x4
how does one go about tightening the shift lever, it indicates all the right gears but when you put it in park or a gear the shift handle falls forward almost hitting the steering wheel, like it's missing a spring or something..

Not sure about the 700R4. The linkage should be beside the transmission on one side or the other. Look for that to be right. I'm guessing something is worn out on a truck with the 2.8. It's a pretty old engine.
