im looking for a 6 inch lift kit and dont know why donahoe racing is so much more than pro comps. dr's is a 6 inch and pro comps is a 6.5 but there is a huge price difference. is it worth the extra cash? are there any other nice kits out there? i want it just for looks, my truck will probably never see offroad, just muddy jobsites, just in case you are curious. thanx
I havent bought my kit, not enought $$$ yet, however I did tons of research and from what I've read no other lift kits out there ride as nicely as the DR kits. I don't plan on spending much time offroad either. I was looking to keep the same payload/towing capacity of the truck and for it to ride the same as stock if not better. That is a tall order for a supension lift (pun intended) and from what I've read the DR kits will do it.
Just remmember the bigger you go everything costs more money, and shorter lifespan. Dr is expensive because they have a great lifespan, but things like ball joints, shocks, wheels, tires, ubolts, transmissions, rearends are all going to get a shorter life the bigger you go. If i had it to do over i would go with a leveling kit and as big a tire that would still fit.
Got to give props to superlift, its pretty good for the money.
I have the Procomp 6.5 and really no issues though my 37s rubbed a bit put on some 36s and NO issue mine even gets a little time off roaod here and there does good
It rides 10 times better than a friends Superlift 6 inch his feels like they welded the axles to the frame
i have an 8 inch BDS lift and am happy with it, rides better than superlift 8 inch my buddy has but prett close. i haul 12000 every weekend all spring lift lifetime warranty and i have no sag yet.

Apples & Oranges
The differences between these systems are apparent in terms of on-road ride quality, off-road performance, and overall reliability. Here are a few key differences:
The DR system offers 12 leaf spring packs which are made from #5160 American spring steel as opposed to ProComps 6 leaf spring packs which are made 'over seas' from low grade steel.
DR
ProComp
The DR system includes heavy duty bracketry which is fully gusseted for superior strength and suspension geometry.
The DR system includes application specific gas shocks which feature a digressive piston design and silver zinc plating with clear powder coating for a long lasting finish. These were developed specifically for use with this system as opposed to ProComps generically valved emulsion shocks.
Other differences include grade 8 hardware, hardened u-bolts, and bump stop spacers which actually prevent shock damage under sever use included with the DR system.
Finally, a huge difference is in the warranty. DR offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products including shocks and springs.
IMO, when you take these differences into consideration it is not hard to see justification for the price difference.
i Have the procomp 6.5 with 37's ruba very little...not a rough ride but could be better..i only really put thought into four lifts...dr skyjacker procomp and superlift.....and to me thats the order in how the rank...if i had dr i wouldn;t take it offroad to much mney for a soft ride to let break....skyjacker to me is to expensve for nothing...I love my procomp..999$ and it works and looks great...superlift....wayyy to rough!
