Question Tech Please help with A/C

My A/c just stopped working yesterday. It's an 04 f250 6.0l fx4. I checked the fuses and #10 & 23 are good. It worked fine the other day when we last drove it. Anyway I looked down to the compressor and the clutch looks like it is engaged. I can't seem to get it to cut off. I pulled the fuses and it's still engaged. I put a gage on the low side and have 90 psi which is too high. Is the some relay on there some where I can check? I'm broke till the end off the month and am scared to drive it, as i figure i will lock up the compressor and lose my belt. Please point me in the right direction.

you sure your clutch didnt come off? get underneath your truck and see if the clutch is there or just the pulley.

you said you have 90psi is that with the a/c running or off? Also as said above make sure you sure the compressor is turning and not just the pulley.

If your compressor is stuck engaged it should be cold. But if it's running and has a constant 90psi on the low side it's toasted and will need to be replaced.

I take it your out of your 3-36 warranty?

Yes warranty is out and the clutch is stuck and engaged. But I have just hot air. Just went and looked and the clutch came apart. Talked to my service man and $375. for parts and labor.

If it's spinning, and 90 psi on the low side, it is what everyone is saying, or another possibility, it had a major failure internally, and it's shot. I've had A/C compressors lock up, and I've had them fall apart internally, and not continue to pump, they just appear so from the clutch.
