Thank's alot for the decode Garbz2.

I have a couple questions for you. You said my truck was manufactured in October 1964, but it is a 1965 model, did Ford make some 1965 models during Oct.-Dec. 1964? Was it common for Ford to build 65's in 64, 66's in 65 etc.
Like today you can buy a 2008 F-150 model in 2007. I hope I don't sound to confusing.

When you say conventional cab, is that the same thing as a custom cab?

Thank's for the help.

Fords production year starts in August or with #580,000 throught the end of production in July of 65 with #731,999. any truck that falls within those numbers is a 65 model year. even though produced in 64.

The C indicates upgrade materials there fore a probable custom cab. Does your truck have the sweep speedomoter? Stainless windshield trim or aluminum side trim. or CC scripts?

The F in F100 means conventional 2 axle.

The 81 is a body code and has further meaning of "Conventional Cab" think big like a peterbuilt "conventional". cab with hood and fenders arranged with engine to the fore of the cab.

Thank's Garbz for clearing up the production dates for me.

My truck has the sweeping speedometer, stainless windshield trim, aluminum side trim, custom cab script, it has the toolbox on the passenger side.

I was just curious to find out how it came stock from the factory .

How rare if at all were some of the options ie. short bed, 352ci, 3 speed, toolbox, trim, custom cab, early production Oct, etc?

Stock: 1965 F-100 short bed custom cab 2w4
White exterior, Green interior, 352ci, 3 speed, 9in 3.25 ratio

Now: 460ci, C-6

Black exterior, Black interior

Thank's for the help, I've learned alot
