I have an almost stock 95 F350 c/c, 4x4, 4:10's, Tymar style intake, 195,000 miles, and it seems to be getting better milage since the weather has gotten hotter. Maybe I'm just not lead footin it around so much, but today I check my odometer when I switched tanks and it showed 250 miles out of the front tank (20 gallons I believe). Just curious... what type of milage are you guys seeing out of a tank?
I have a long trip to California coming up, so I've been checking it again. I get 275 - 285 on the rear (18.2 gallon) tank. My last fill-up was 16.7 gallons. That puts me solidly into the 16.5 - 17.0 mpg vicinity. This is combined, highway and city, driving with some off-road thrown in for fun.
I'll squeeze 10 miles more, 285 - 295 out of the front (19.0 gallons) tank. Doing this gives me a range 560 - 580 miles with about 0.5 - 1.0 gallon still in each tank.
No mods have been done to my truck. I did add a camper shell when I bought the truck, but she's so stock, she still has the factory air filter box.

I get from 300 to 350 miles a tank ( 17 gal. avg. fill ) The 3.55 gears & the mods I learned from here really helped improve the miles a bunch. When I was bringing The truck home from Utah the mileage was so dismal I was wondering if I had made the right choice. Now I know I did !
Right around 20 mpg consistently. Usually push the front tank to 320-325 (into which i can fit a little over 16 gal) and the back tank 350-360.
Having nearly 700 miles of range before refueling is cool. My 88 gasser with 4.10 rear and 351 engine could only get 400 miles per refuel if I was traveling downhill with a tailwind!

Yep, Winterized diesel suks, I get better milage in the summer too. Maybe it's just the cold weather, diesels like to run hot=more power, better fuel milage.
Thanks for the info guys. By the looks of it I should be getting a little better milage. 2/3rds of my driving is city at which I normally drive fairly mellow, but when I get on the highway I'm normally running 70-72 mph. I suppose I should back it down a little more with the 4:10s.
Any recomendations on things to check on the truck to improve the milage? Also, I plan on changing the exhaust from the turbo back in a couple weeks, will this help much? and what other aftermarket mods can I do to help.
Check some of the signatures on this thread. There are lots of mods to pick and choose from. A lot depends on what your plans are.
Change the fuel filter, clean the FPR screen, and check your fuel pressure. If your fuel pressure is low, shim it with a BB. You can search this site for more information or check Steve Baz's site for lots of information.

aGREED, MY MILAGE WENT UP when I did my mods. Now I would get better if I could keep my foot out of it.
