Superchips tuner

I had a 7.3L with the old superchips programmer. I had no problems and it made the truck run great. I now have a 6.0L and I don't know anything about the new superchips programmer. Has anyone installed it in a 6.0?

The Superchips was fine for the 7.3L, but the 7.3 was not a 6.0. For the 6.0 & Torqueshift the SCT XcalII with "custom tunes" is the only way to go. Give Matt at LIPD a call he is the tuner of choice for the 6.0.
www.lidiesel.com.

Also do a search and read, there is a ton of info on this already posted

Yeah good luck to ya. I personally talked to Matt and he was very helpful but his partner is really not a good CS person at all. He sent me 3 tunes which two were the same and the 3rd was the wrong one. He also will NOT return calls. I bought this for my friend for his truck and he emailed the guy several times with no luck. Seemed like he was done after the sale.

"Done after the sale"??? hardly, Matt has been known to drive several hundred miles to fix a customer up and Jeremy or Matt will even pick-up your truck if they are going to be in your part of the country on one of their road trips and take it to there shop.

If you or your buddy has a CS issue with LIPD then get in contact with them. As for email i know within the last 2-3 weeks they had a server issue and lost several emails. Matt even posted on FTE to contact him if you had not recieved a reply to any emails that had been sent, as the server problem caused them to lose many of them.

Definitely go with the SCT Xcal2 if you're going to tune it. PM me if you want to know about my SCT from DJ's Performance.

Jeremy is the one....NOT Matt. Jeremy would get a phone call from me almost every day for two weeks and I still had to explain to him who I was and what I had bought. He screwed the tunes up and was notified about it. This was not recent, it was February!!! Anyway, I wont be doing anymore buisiness with LIDP.

Yeah the tuner works fine other than the fact that he has a BAD hesitation to it off the line. Its a 06 with low miles and factory settings it was soooo slow.

I have the Superchips 1805 and so far I am very happy with it. I run the Extreme file all the time and have had no problems. The other upside is the ability to program different tire size wich I do from summer to winter. I set the size so my speedo reads the same as my GPS. Also the data logging function lets me check aprox. 1/8 and 1/4 mile times to see if different mods realy make a difference.

A brother of ours here in FTE hooked me up with his old SCMT1704a. I've found that it works great in economy mode--no concerns at all. In High Performance mode it has one funky de-fueling behavior under heavy acceleration between 5th & 6th, but that's to be expected. The Tow Safe mode has good behavior with a slight improvement (perceived, not proven) in the tow/haul strategy. Although it's not a FlasPaq, it does have the same firmware level as one, and as such, tunes like one (I'm told by SCMT tech support). That said, I hope to get an SCT at some point, because of the customization that's available.
