Wrong Chip? Help?
Hi, I purchased a SuperChip for my 01’ Ranger 4.0L Edge from someone online, I thought I would be ok because we had the exact same truck, I was wrong. When I install the chip my car starts and runs ( not great ) for about 15 to 30 seconds and then dies like its run out of gas. I have cleaned my computer terminal really good. After reading some posts on this board, I didn’t know that there were different computers for the exact same truck. On the back of my chip it says:
VQP0_RS.E2S NASP V2
01 4.0L Ford Ranger
the numbers on my computer are:
R1H1 00J27 71158-19
Is there someway to find out if this chip has a different computers program on it, and if it does can I get it reprogrammed even though I didn’t get it from a dealer. Any help would be great thanks.

The code that you give for your ecu code is not a good code for a Ranger. I'm not sure what that series of numbers are. Your code should be 3 letters and 1 number, something like LFQ0......PMT2 or similar. I suggest where the chip originated.
