Trailer ball mount for 07 Explorer
I need to purchase a trailer ball mount for my 2007 Explorer. It has a Class III/IV tow package with a trailer tow rating of 6615 lbs. I plan to tow a boat and trailer weighing about 4200 lbs. There are so many to choose from and I am looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance for your reply!

Here ya go: Measuring For The Proper Ball Mount
1. Measure from the
ground to the top
of the Explorer's hitch opening.
2. Measure from the
ground to the (inside)
top of the trailer
coupler, when level
3. Subtract the height of the
hitch ball (most are 2-1/2" - 3" high)
from coupler measurement.
THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO
MEASUREMENTS IS THE AMOUNT
OF BALL MOUNT "RISE" OR "DROP"
REQUIRED.
Convert-A-Ball mounts are cushioned, which eliminates a lot of clanging and banging when starting/stopping.
