I had a thread here way back that my Expedition had starting issues, and surging issues. Replaced the IAC, fuel pump, fuel filter, EGR, and anything else related. Well guess what!!! I am still surging.( I am starting fine now) I will come to a stop light, sit for a few and all of a sudden it will rev surge. Brake pedal will , of course, come up at me and I have to depress hard as not to ram the car in front. It has happened with ac on and ac off. Could this mean maybe I need throttle body cleaned out as dealer says? Or is this something else? The dealer was the one's who had me doing all other fixes before and have lost my faith in their ability to diagnoise the problem. This forum has always steered me in the right direction.
I had the same problem on my '99 Eddie Bauer Expy. It was the IACV that caused the problem. Changed it out, and no more problem.
I also had a slight problem with what I would describe as the gas pedal sticking when it was cold. It was cleaning out the throttle body that cured that. Easy for you to do if you want-disconnect the air intake, spray and wipe out the throttle body. 5 minutes and your done.
Hope this helps.
I will try that. I was driving today and the darned thing took off on me. Since the IAC was already changed out. I hope this is as easy as you say. I am not to mechanical, but I am sure one to learn and try.
Thanks.
Second thought here, can anyone post a pic or diagram of what I am to do?

I will mention that to the techs. Had to drop it at the Ford. It was getting so bad that I was getting real scared just to drive her. Almost ran up the back of a little Kia.
I will report back on what they say.
Oh yea they also are doing the diagnostic for free because I brought in 20 reports from the NTSB site where others have had the same issue unresolved.
Ford dealer has it and cannot, as they say mimic the problem. Of course they had it a few months back and told me it was fine and that the feul pump was fine and the very next day it had to be towed in from miles up the State.
I gave them some of the replys here as to the problem, and they are saying those are all Okay.
I still think they put a defective IAC on. But who knows? All I know is I have had about enough of this and am ready to throw in the towel.
