Actually, my son managed to clean it pretty much off the truck while backing out on FATHER'S DAY!!!!! Does anyone know if the whole interior door panel needs to come off to replace the mirror, or just the triangle trim piece at the top inside corner?
I had the exact same thing to me! You have to take the whole door panel off to access the bolts for the mirror. Getting the panel back on is a lot easier with another set of hands too!
It takes a total of 11 bolts in 4 differnt sizes to get the panel off and the mirror replaced (if memory serves me correctly)... but should only take about 30 minutes to do.
The same thing happened to me (right hand side). Does anyone know where I should go to get a replacement? It's the power, heated mirror with a turn signal. 2006 F150 Lariat model.
get the mirror from ford--i paid $94.00 for mine which was also a heated signal mirror.
dont pay retaill-most ford dealers will discount them. they are not hard to install but the door panel does have to come off.
$94 is a pretty good price. Mirror on the wifes car got knocked off by some guy while she was parallel parked. Dealer wanted just a shade over 300. I found another on www.car-part.com for $100, so that was a little savings. You might look on there, but I suspect it will be hard to beat the $94 bucks.

Looking for passenger side mirror right now. Called Ford, they asked for my VIN said there are 10 different mirrors for 06 F150. Seems to me there should be a universal part # for heated/power/signal mirror. Anyone care to share this knowledge?
