Metal Clapping?

Metal Clapping?
Anyone ever notice any type of metal hitting metal sound from the drivers side.. I've noticed lately that if you pop the hood and stick your head by the Hood Strut on the drivers side.. There's some sort of metal clap.. I thought perhaps a washer rattling but didn't find anything.. Also noticed sometimes if I open my Drivers door and shut the truck off (ie: meaning im in it with windows up), I hit some sorta metal clap when it turns off.. It sounds like something is loose but I can't find anything.. Anyone know of any metal that might have become loose on that side that would cause it?
Truck runs fine.. No stress on it or issues so I don't think its internal.. I checked the few metal washers on the firewall and they are all sturdy..
