Ok i have a 200o Superduty Long Bed Supercab 5Speed 5.4 With 4.10 Gears, 25,000 Miles, Already did the 3" Exhaust, Gutted The converters ANd Sent the stock muffler to the bone yard. Invested my money in the K&N Filter, Now i'm ready for a chip, or am I.. Anybody Chipped a 2000 superduty 5.4 ? Is it really worth it at todays gas prices having to run premium.?
lets face it if i cared about gas i would have bought a Toyota. But why waste money on all the premium gas for a chip if it isnt gonna do any good, or at least make a "Noticable" difference in the performance of the truck. My truck was already strong enough for my use up until i chose the 33 12.50's a while back. I did notice a loss of power with the larger tires, so now i want my power back. I pull my bass boat daily and then do the usual running around to grandmas house and such. My best friend has a new v-10 with the 3.73 gears and a 5 speed, i used to run off and leave him most of the time, he has done something, cause now all the sudden he's always knocking on my back door, but he wont tell me what. I thought maybe it was just my tire change, but he changed his too. So which chip is the best, which chip well make my manual transmission 5.4 spunky again? Any suggestions......?

You'll get more horse-power from the chip than you will from a filter and exhaust change over. A chip will make a very noticeable difference, you won't just think you're getting more HP --- you'll know it. With towing, you'll get better shifting (chips firm up the shifts).
If you're worried about gas mileage, Diablo's consumer feedback shows a 0-2 mpg increase, Superchips doesn't claim any increase. I never recommend a chip for mileage gains. A chip should be purchased purely for the performance/shift gain because the milage gain (if any) is offset by the gas prices, especially in the mid-west.
Based on customer feedback, the Diablo is the winner with horse power, but the the Superchips has the edge in shifting. I prefer the Diablo myself though anyone doing a lot of towing would probably prefer the Superchip.

My 2000 Superduty is a manual 5 speed, i have heard that most people are fooled with the performance from a chip since the major change comes from the different shift points, So back to my original question, will a chip really make a noticeable diff on my y2k superduty 5.4 with a 5 speed manual tranny..If so i have my credit card ready, just waiting for someone to convince me to place the order. I have read a lot of mixed emotions about these chips, and what if i am not satisified, are the chips returnable for a refund?

Very little of the chip's gain is from the shifting. The shifting does help with towing and it gets rid of the lag you get when passing, but its not where the gain comes from. The fuel delivery curves are changed and the timing advanced. The advancing of the timing for premium fuel is the single biggest reason why you get a horse-power gain and it is definitely noticeable. The gain is about 25 hp. Both Diablo and Superchips give a boost across the entire torque curve. The Jet only gives a boost at WOT and I can't verify for other brands.
Magazines test chips all the time and the gains are verifiable on dyno's. Sometimes slightly less than advertised, sometimes more --- depends on your stock code and what you've added to the truck. It WILL give you more punch. However, do not expect miracles. A chip will not turn your truck into a hot rod when towing or make it run like a Lightning.
In answer to your last question, the chips are returnable for a refund if you're not satisfied.
