erratic gauges
I have a 2004 F150 supercrew 4x4. Recently sometimes when starting the truck, none of the gauges move they just start vibrating. After a few seconds they pop up to normal. When this happens the trip meter, fuel mileage, etc resets itself to start over. Also the truck seems to crank longer to start lately when it is warmed up. The problems seemed to start around the same time. I tried to do a search but couldn't find the same problem. Any ideas?

After reading your post, the first thing that came to mind was that you're ready for a new battery.
A battery that has become long in the tooth will cause those symptoms (gauges jumping around). I know because I've experienced it. Of course, longer/slower cranking is a definte tell tale of a weak battery.
