I know this may be in the wrong forum but the 73-9 trucks are the only trucks that i have seen with a white stripe going along the bottom of the truck. The stripe on my truck is all cracked and ugly it throuws off the look of the whole truck. Has anyone ever tried to remove this thing? Or even does anyone know how? If so can anyone help me out I need to get rid of this parasite. chicks don't dig ugly so i need a way to remove it without severly damaging the paint.
Hmmmm... as the owner of a '74 Explorer with the white stripes running the length of the truck There is no way to get them off without making a H*$$ of a mess short of repainting the truck.
I personally love the stripes and when my body and paint work begin in a month or so it will have a new set of white stripes applied in either paint or vinyl. (maybe even reflective? )
Look at my pics on cardomain and see if they are indeed what you are referring to as "ugly".

i think it was 3m that made an adhesive remover. i sold cases to a ford dealer. they changed names and wanted to change all those dealer name plates. you sprayed it on and the sticker came off. check your local body supply shop or napa.
Good luck with that. Decals that are already 30+ years old will not "go gently into that good night". You can probably expect the paint to come off with them.

The stripe on your truck is different than mine yours goes all the way down to the bottom of the truck mine is about half the width and just looks like ****. yours isnt so bad but then again your truck is blue and mine is orange.
