Torque Converter Recommendations

I have a stock 7.3 Excursion and I have the transmission out. I would like any recommendations on a good torque converter. I don't tow anything or run the car hard; just a daily driver. Also, I have been getting mixed input on the brand and type of pump seal to use. Any info there would also be appreciated.

If you don't tow anything or run her hard, then a OEM TC should do ya fine. HOWEVER, if you want the potential to maybe one day add extra horsepower without having to go back into the tranny, you would want a 3 disc TC. Banks makes a good billet TC, as do other companies. I WOULD HOWEVER check with Brian at ATS transmissions. He's a sponsor here, and his trannys are probably the best, as are his TC's and valve bodies.Do a search and you'll see what I mean.

I hear ya Ray- my stock TC crapped the bed, and destroyed my tranny- it caused a bunch of internal damage. But then again I drive like I stole it, pushing extra horsepower....

OOPS- I meant Brian at BTS- Brians truck Shop, but it sounds like you found your way around my mix up. ATS makes good trannys too....

An 6L convertor is a reliable unit. Its probably one of the cheaper routes to consider.
