Afe

I am looking at getting an AFE stage 2 from Diesel Manor. I am wondering what media I should get. I have heard that oil type filters such as K&N are bad for the turbo.

Thanks,

Thats not really true, its actually the owners over-washing the filter and over-oiling or not putting enough oil on the filter. I would go with the dryfilter, but if you do go with the oiled one just make sure its not over oiled and dont used compressed air to clean the filter.

Thanks,
Aaron a lot of guys have issues with the oiled filters, it's widely believed that the oiled varieties suck in more dirt and particles than the paper filters.

I have an Airaid (oiled) that was on my truck when I bought it and I can say I am not super impressed with it. I have to clean it all the time for it to effectively sort out the dirt particles and keep them from getting to my turbo. Like was said in the previous post they seem to be okay as long as you keep ontop of them and make sure they are oiled properly. I'll be switching to a different filter as soon as I get around to it. Until then, that Airaid gets cleaned every 3,000 miles.

They filter BETTER when dirty, but flow less... AFE stage 2 with the standard filter here... No issues what so ever!
