I'm new to the Ford scene but I was looking at a 72' f100 today that was all wheel drive. It didn't have hubs to turn in or out. My dad owned a 72' and it did have hubs so was the awd an option or something? Please forgive my ignorance on the subject. Thanks--Marvin

No need to forgive... just a question a pretty good one too well from what i know i dont think they came with all wheel drive yes 4 wheel drive weird there is no caps to lock the hubs maybe he changed out the caps or put different caps on so there was nowhere to lock the hubs or it might be automatic hubs
im not 100% sure but someone who knows might tell yea
There was no "all wheel drive" thats a subaru thing! Its called full time 4x4 and was the bottom basic 4x4 system. It could also have a single speed transfer case or two speed. They both had HI and HI-Lock on the shifter. In Hi lock It acted like a traditional 4x4 system and you had a 50/50 power split in HI you had a 70/30 power split and the front tires would not grab when you made a turn on hard surfaces.
