Hey, I have a pretty simple question... did any of the v-10's come with dual blade, cable operated throttle bodies? I have an intake manifold that is drilled to accept a v-10 pattern tb (its the same as the gt500 pattern), but the 4.6 dohc in my 67 fastback isnt setup to run throttle by wire... so in looking for a bolt in solution I am trying to find a v-10 tb that is already setup for ccable.
Are they all by wire, or are any by cable and still use the same bolt pattern?
All 1999-2004 6.8L V10s had cable-operated throttles. The "drive by wire" system didn't arrive until 2005.
I believe all of the "old" throttle bodies are 57mm dual blades but I have no idea about whether they will bolt up to your 4.6L engine. I'd really recommend hitting the Mustang websites as I'm sure several people there have installed 6.8L parts into their cars and could point you to some good suppliers for hopping-up the smaller engines.
