Question Shifting points at WOT ???

Hey you guys I need some info about the shifting points at WOT, since it seems to me my truck is shifting to early.

The subject: F150, 1992, 4.9L, E4OD, 3.55 Rear axle, 31/105R15LT tires

Shift 1-2 @ WOT=?
Shift 2-3 @ WOT=?
Shift 3-4 @ WOT=?

Thanks for the info. Regards;

Have you tried asking a Ford mechanic?

What 300 enthusiast would want to abuse their truck by driving it at WOT?

Thanks guys for your comments. Doing a WOT test is necessary to verify proper shifting points & pressure for tranny/PCM combination.

The idea is very simple; if engine can't cause too much slipage while shifting at WOT to tranny, there is no driving condition able to burn the tranny...

More over, doing this test, you can obtain the maximun designed RPM that was used by enginers as Red Line point for a particular engine.

Guessing I can say it should be around 3.500 - 3.700 but I want know if somebody has this info...

Red Line topic has been discussed a lot of times this forum, let me explain my considerations about this....

The STOCK 300 EFI engine 1992 and newer, accordingly to some Dino numbers from forum guys, produce a lot of torque up to 3.500 then it reduce quickly. The engine itself can stand 4.500, some guys say even more, but valves start floating about 4.000.

It can stand a lot but doesn't produce power at RPM's over 3.500, so that's why most people consider 3.500 the "Optimun Red Line"

But my initial question is to obtain the shifting points, factory programed for WOT

Any idea?
